As a player at Legacy, each player needs to remember they are representing themselves, their family, and the league. Being a part of the Legacy family, players will:
LEGACY LACROSSE CONCUSSION POLICY
If an athlete is suspected to have a concussion, either observed by a coach, parent, referee, or another player, he is to be removed from the game or practice and assessed for a possible concussion. If there is not a Qualified Person (Certified & Licensed Athletic Trainer) to rule out the possibility of a concussion the athlete is to remain off the field of play.
After a suspected concussion, the athlete is not to return to play WITHOUT (1) a Doctor's note from a Neurologist/Sports Concussion Doctor (2) Clearance from on-site Athletic Trainer after passing the gradual Concussion Return to Play Protocol.
Coaches should remove athletes with a suspected concussion if any of the following symptoms are present after a blow to the head or sudden fall. Symptoms include but are not limited to:
If the athlete is unresponsive, 911 should be called immediately and the athlete monitored for Airway/Breathing/Circulation until EMS arrives. If the athlete regains consciousness before EMS arrives, keep them in a comfortable position until EMS arrives.
If you believe you might have experienced a concussion, you MUST see a certified medical professional before resuming play.
COVID-19
If the Spring 2021 season is canceled before games/training sessions begin due to COVID-19, ALL fees paid will be refunded.
General Refund Policy
Registration on a Legacy Lacrosse team confirms a player’s commitment to the program for the full year or season, depending on the program. This includes all fees associated with membership in full. Legacy Lacrosse will review requests for an adjustment to program fees in the case of a significant injury or relocation. To initiate this review, please complete the following form and clearly explain the circumstances.
Seasonal program players may request a refund prior to the start of the season. Refunds must be submitted utilizing the following form and received one week prior to the start of the season, to be considered for a full refund. $25 administrative fee will still be applied. Any refund request made after the start of your program, may be denied.
Any adjustment or refund of fees will be determined on a case by case basis by Legacy Lacrosse. Administrative fees may apply. Refunds will be provided in which payment was made. Refunds or adjustments will not be made due to weather. We will do our best to reschedule if possible.
Please allow 7-10 days for Legacy Lacrosse to review your request.
Significant Injury
Should a significant injury occur that results in a substantial loss of play or participation in the program where the player is signed up for, please fill out the following form to initiate the request. A significant injury is defined as an injury that results in a player not being able to participate in activities for more than a six week timeframe. In order for your request to be considered, you must submit a doctor's note to Legacy Lacrosse to confirm the severity of the injury. Please note that Legacy Lacrosse is partnered with Phoenix Rehabilitation and Health Services and we would be happy to refer you to their offices for care.
Relocation
Consideration for relocations outside the general Hampton Roads area will be given. Please complete the following form listing the specific circumstances to begin a review. If you are being relocated due to Military Service please note that in the form.
